Advanced Acting for Film & Camera
Martha Efoghe is a Christian, actor, filmmaker, and scholar who believes that film is more than just entertainment, it is a ministry and a tool for transformation. She often describes herself as an “errand from eternity,” committed to using storytelling and visual media to draw hearts back to God and shine light on truth. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Film Studies from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Nigeria, where she graduated as the Best Graduating Student, and a Master’s degree in Theatre and Film Studies from Igbinedion University, Okada, Edo State, graduating with Distinction. As an actor, Martha has featured in numerous films and television series, some of which aired on Silverbird Television, Galaxy TV, and AIT Nigeria. Her career spans acting, producing, directing, and creative leadership, with a strong focus on purpose-driven storytelling.
She is the founder of Ascension Studios, a gospel-focused film production company through which she produces films and skits that inspire faith, provoke reflection, and address social and spiritual issues often ignored or silenced. Her works, many of which are available on YouTube, are intentionally created to glorify God, raise awareness, and impact lives across cultures. Academically, Martha has contributed scholarly works to the fields of Theatre and Film Studies, with publications featured in both national and international journals. Her research interest centers on film as a tool for social reformation, advocacy, and change, particularly in using media to address pressing societal issues and inspire transformation. She currently serves as the Program Coordinator of The Winlos Film Academy and lectures Advanced Acting for Film and Camera, where she mentors students to approach acting with technical excellence, emotional truth, and spiritual depth. Martha is happily married and remains deeply passionate about raising a new generation of filmmakers who tell stories with purpose, conviction, and eternal impact.
